Terms of service
Last updated July 12, 2026
This is the plain-English deal between you and Soundings. By creating an account or using the service, you're agreeing to it.
The service
Soundings lets you write surveys, share them by link, and collect and analyze responses. The free plan is genuinely free: unlimited surveys, unlimited responses, and full export of your data, with no expiry. Pro adds finishing touches for a monthly fee.
Your account
You sign in with an email link, so keep your email address secure and current — anyone who can read your email can access your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
Your content
Your surveys and the responses they collect are yours. You give us only the permission we need to host, process, and display them in order to run the service — nothing more. What we do and don't do with data is spelled out in the privacy policy.
Your respondents
You decide what your surveys ask, so make sure you're allowed to collect what you're asking for. Don't use surveys to collect passwords, card numbers, or similar credentials, and don't mislead people about who is asking or why.
Acceptable use
No spam, phishing, harassment, malware, or content that's illegal where you or your respondents are. We can suspend or close accounts that cross these lines; where the situation allows, we'll give you a chance to export your data first.
Billing
Pro is billed monthly through Stripe at the price shown at checkout. Cancel anytime from the billing portal in your settings — you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Your surveys and data are identical on both plans, so downgrading never costs you your work.
If Pro isn't working out, email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it — no questions asked.
The service, honestly
Soundingsis run by a small team. We work hard to keep it fast and available, but we can't promise perfect uptime, and the service is provided as-is. Your data is exportable at any time, and we'll be straight with you when something breaks.
Our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is capped at what you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and governing law
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
